McCarthy Joins Giants, Role Unclear

Coach John Harbaugh has confirmed Winston will start against the Cardinals, but the Giants haven't specified whether McCarthy or practice squad QB Jake Haener will back up. The team gave up a fifth-round pick to acquire McCarthy, suggesting front office belief in his potential impact.

Winston completed 14 of 22 passes for 118 yards in last week's 12-7 win over Tennessee. The Giants won with 238 total yards and no touchdowns, thanks to rookie kicker Dominic Zvada's four field goals and a late end-zone interception by safety Jevon Holland. somethingsdifferent.biz
