Westerholm Twins Sign for Vålerenga

Vålerenga has secured the services of Swedish twin brothers Ponthus and Pathrik Westerholm (34) for the upcoming season. The pair brings nearly 1000 games of combined experience in SHL and Finnish elite league, coming most recently from three seasons with Lukko in Finland.

Sports director Morten Ask explains the decision: "We have followed Ponthus and Pathrik for a long time, and when two players with that experience become available, we must be offensive." The twins have won SM-gold and Champions Hockey League together and have performed at the highest level in Sweden and Finland for over a decade. According to Ponthus, conversations with current VIF player Henrik Larsson influenced their decision to join Vålerenga.
