World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open because of a wrist injury, raising doubts about his fitness for the US Open title defence.

Alcaraz has been sidelined since April, when he withdrew from the Barcelona Open second round, and had been expected to return at the ATP Masters 1000 event he won last year.
