Silva Joins Bournemouth from Benfica

Bournemouth has secured Portuguese defender Antonio Silva from Benfica for approximately £26 million to replace Marcos Senesi.

The 22-year-old Portuguese international has signed with Bournemouth after making 235 appearances for Benfica across all competitions. He brings valuable European experience to the club, which will be competing in the Europa League for the first time next season.

Silva replaces Argentine defender Marcos Senesi, who joined Tottenham after his contract expired. The Cherries open their league campaign against Manchester City on August 23rd. palladian.co.za
