Illinois Fires Softball Coach Tyra Perry

Illinois Athletic Director Josh Whitman has fired head coach Tyra Perry after 11 seasons. Despite early success that included multiple NCAA postseason appearances, the program struggled significantly in recent years, finishing the 2023 season with a 15-39 record.

Whitman stated that a change in leadership was necessary to rebuild the program. The Illini will now launch a national search to find Perry’s replacement. ipl-today.in
