The Huskers improved to 29-6 overall and 10-1 in Big Ten play with the win. Nebraska held a 5-1 lead entering the seventh inning before Rutgers mounted a comeback, cutting the deficit to 5-3 with runners on base.
Jordy Frahm came in to secure the victory, getting three crucial outs to end the game. The freshman sensation Alexis Jensen pitched six strong innings before Frahn closed it out. The Huskers also benefited from a defensive highlight by Hannah Coor and a home run by Hannah Camenzind during the contest.
