Skotheim suffered a ligament injury in his left foot during a training camp on 20 January, requiring surgery to repair the tendon‑holding structure, including the big toe. The 23‑year‑old has already completed his first throw post‑operation and is progressing well.
If all goes as planned, Skotheim could be back in competition by the end of May and target the European Championships in Birmingham in August, where he aims for his first senior medal. He missed the Paris 2024 Olympics and the Tokyo 2025 World Championships due to the injury.
