Suzuki Powers Canadiens Past Hurricanes

Nick Suzuki scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, extending Montreal's winning streak to five games.

Suzuki fueled a three-goal second period for the Canadiens, who have now won all three regular-season games against the Metropolitan Division-leading Hurricanes. Cole Caufield contributed with a goal and assist while goalie Jakub Dobes made 34 saves in his third win of the season over Carolina.

Andrei Svechnikov scored for the Hurricanes, who took a 1-0 lead in the first period. Montreal answered with Suzuki tying the game 1-1 in the second period before Caufield's goal and a power-play score gave the Canadiens the victory. Suzuki leads Montreal with 91 points and has five goals and 12 assists in the past 10 games as the Canadiens compete for position in a tight Atlantic Division playoff race.
