During an appearance on Julian Edelman's "Games With Names" podcast, Denver Broncos All-Pro Patrick Surtain II praised Patriots shutdown corner Christian Gonzalez. Surtain, a two-time All-Pro and 2024 Defensive Player of the Year, noted how the best corners in the league are "chill" and let their play do the talking.
"Like Gonzo — like he's quiet," Surtain said. "Quiet as a mouse, y'know? Chill, laid-back. But, he's a baller." Surtain grouped Gonzalez with himself and Derek Stingley Jr. as top-tier corners who don't talk much. The Patriots are reportedly working on an extension with Gonzalez, who has one Pro Bowl nod. Unlike Gonzalez, Surtain already secured a four-year, $96 million deal with the Broncos in 2024.
