Falcons announce death of Ring of Honor member Jeff Van Note

The Atlanta Falcons announced on Friday that longtime center Jeff Van Note has died at age 80.

Van Note, who played for the Falcons from 1969-1986, was selected in the 11th round of the 1969 draft and became a fixture at center. He was added to the franchise's Ring of Honor in 2006 and played in 246 games, second most in team history.

"Today, we mourn the loss of a true Falcons legend," Falcons owner Arthur Blank said in a statement. "Jeff Van Note dedicated 18 seasons to this franchise and became one of the most respected and beloved players in our history." djcc.club
