Robert Saleh: Cam Ward must be smarter with the football

Published September 28, 2026 · Updated September 28, 2026 · NBC Sports

Titans coach Robert Saleh criticized quarterback Cam Ward for forcing a pass in the final seconds instead of running out the clock or using timeouts, leading to a costly interception.

Ward rolled left with room to run but threw an interception to Giants safety Jevon Holland, sealing a 12-7 loss. Saleh emphasized Ward needed to be "smarter with the football" in that open field situation. sportbet.reviews

Despite the error, Saleh stated he hasn't considered benching Ward, the first overall pick, and wants to see continued growth from the offense.
