Protect College Sports Act Vote Uncertain

Senate Majority Leader John Thune won't commit to a vote this week on the Protect College Sports Act, despite sponsor Senator Ted Cruz's confidence it will pass.

Last week's deal securing support from the Big Ten and SEC generated optimism for the Protect College Sports Act, but Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) declined to guarantee a floor vote before recess. 'Can we produce a big vote for it on the floor? Can we get it in the queue somehow?' Thune questioned, citing unanswered questions about the legislative process.

Despite this uncertainty, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), a bill sponsor, remains adamant: 'This bill is going to pass, and it's going to pass this week out of the Senate.' Cruz predicted President Trump would sign it into law during College GameDay this fall following bipartisan votes in both chambers. h-doctor.club
