While it might not feature a title fight or be a "big" numbered UFC event, Saturday's card from Seattle could surprise viewers.

Airing live on Paramount+, UFC Fight Night 271 features former champion Israel Adesanya against Joe Pyfer from the Climate Pledge Arena. It is the fifth trip to the Pacific Northwest for the promotion and first since February 2025.

Adesanya has twice held the UFC middleweight belt, making five consecutive title defenses the first time around. However, he has dropped three straight, including a loss to Nassourdine Imavov in early 2025.

Before the recent run of bad luck, Adesanya won 24 of his first 26 fights, including 16 by way of knockout. He bested the likes of Alex Pereira, Robert Whittaker, Yoel Romero and former UFC champion Anderson Silva.

Pyfer, meanwhile, has secured four "Fight of the Night" bonuses and is riding a three-fight win streak. In his last bout, he submitted Abusupiyan Magomedov with a nasty face crank, improving to 15-3 overall with 13 wins by knockout or submission.

But there is plenty more scheduled for the night.

Women's Flyweight Division Gets Co-Main Event Billing

Two exciting female fighters will square off in the co-main event when Alexa Grasso battles Maycee Barber. Grasso is a former champion, defeating Valentina Shevchenko by submission in 2023 to claim the belt before battling her to a draw in the immediate rematch.

Barber has not lost since 2021, which just so happened to come to Grasso via decision. Ever since, she has reeled off seven straight, showing why she is nicknamed "The Future."

There is also the retirement fight that will pull at the heartstrings when Michael Chiesa takes on Niko Price. Chiesa, a winner of the inaugural The Ultimate Fighter: Live, fights out of Washington and will have the fans in his corner.

Chiesa has won his last three, including a pair of submission victories over Max Griffin and Tony Ferguson. Price will try to play the role of spoiler and snap a three-fight losing skid.

Terrance McKinney and Kyle Nelson kick-start the main card in a lightweight thriller. McKinney is from Spokane, Washington and has never fought to a decision in 25 pro bouts. Nelson has six knockout and four submission wins.
