Ikhlef bags silver at Asian Weightlifting Championships in India

Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s Ouisal Ikhlef delivered an impressive performance at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Gandhinagar, India, claiming silver in the women’s +86kg category against a high-quality field featuring Olympic and world-level competitors.

Ikhlef finished ahead of world No.2-ranked South Korean lifter Park Hye-jeong to mark a notable achievement for Qatari women on the continental stage.

The Qatari weightlifter lifted 130kg in the snatch to take bronze, produced 169kg in the clean & jerk for silver, and secured 299kg in the total to clinch overall silver in an outstanding campaign.
